Green Running
For the 3rd year in a row, the Arbor Day Run 5k/10k and Hike is THE GREENEST race in North Texas. It is our mission to be as eco-friendly as we can! How do we do this exactly? No water stops! (just kidding)…We will have water on the course but we do encourage our participants to remember to bring a reusable water bottle or bring your Arbor Day Run aluminum water bottle from 2009. We do compost our cups on the course but please help us eliminate this step by bringing a reusable bottler or hydra pouch for your use on the course. No race packets and no race t-shirt… (but you can purchase one!)That’s right! We do support our sponsors and will have sponsor offers and coupons available but we encourage the low usage of paper products, plastic bags and ask that you visit our sponsors online. Most of you have run in races over the years and accumulate shirts that you never wear or you end up donating. So we replaced this benefit by providing you with alternative “green/eco friendly” incentives! Order the 2011 Arbor Day Run Shirt!
